About Us
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is dedicated to the welfare of all animals because of their intrinsic value and rights. Its primary purposes are the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, the extension of humane education and the provision of shelter-based services.

2006 At A Glance...
- HSTB's save rate was 85% (2,496 animals were surrendered to the HSTB and we were able to find homes for 2,128 of them)
- Euthanasia rate was 5%
- HSTB Spay and Nueter Clinic Spayed or Neutered almost 7,000 animals
- HSTB volunteers delivered over 28,000 lbs. of dog food to Animeals recipients
- Volunteers performed over 12,000 hours of service to the HSTB
- Facilitated 152 behavior hotline calls to people in the Tampa Bay area who needed assistance with behavior issues with their pet
