A world call destination, which provides unique educational programs and entertaining experiences, through diverse exhibitions in partnership with our local and global communities.
Florida International Museum (FIM) has become one of Florida’s premier cultural attractions, having hosted over 2.5 million visitors from all 50 states and over 100 countries since it opened in 1995.
The museum is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to providing educational, cultural and historical exhibitions. To date, over 700,000 school children have toured the museum. In 1999, the museum opened year-round for the first time with a collection of artifacts from the late President John F. Kennedy, his family and others surrounding the Kennedy clan.
Also in 2000, the museum became an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and has since housed artifacts from the Smithsonian and other museums on a rotating basis. The museum marked its new status with the loan of two portraits from the National Portrait Gallery.
Exhibits include the Kennedy Galleries, The Dresses of Princess Diana and A Century of Jewelry and Gems.
